.Day sailing programs including CRYA Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Navigation and Coastal Skipper will continue in 2024.
Our live-aboard courses such as Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper resumed IN 2023. Please read the following plan carefully:
Cooperation is essential from everyone on board. At this writing, Jan 2,2024 Although the risks of COVID19 have fallen, we are not substantually relaxing our policy.
The Provincial Health Authority (P.H.A) says the risk of transmission in an outdoor environment in general is extremely low. However, students and instructors need to follow the guidelines set out by the P.H.A. To reduce risk on board, it is important that everyone follow the additional rules that Plain Sailing has put in place to further reduce the risk for our students and instructor.

• Do not come if you have not been vaccinated recently. • Do not come if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. Check this web site for symptoms.
   http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/about-covid-19/symptoms
• Do not come if you, or anyone in your household, has been in contact with someone in the 14 days prior to your course who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
• Do not come if you, or anyone in your household, has been traveling outside of Canada in the 14 days prior to your course.
• Do not come if you have a compromised immune system, or other underlying health condition, which puts you at greater risk from severe respiratory infection.

If you show symptoms of COVID19 prior to your sailing you must call Plain Sailing at 250 797 6989, and inform us as soon as possible. We will re-schedule at some future, symptom free time. We are taking additional measures on board to reduce any risk of transmission.
• Day courses with a maximum of 3 students, plus one instructor.
• If students and instructors follow these measures, we will be able to safely continue instruction. We will update and re-distribute this page, and the release, as necessary to reflect changing situations and guidelines from government and health authorities.
